The winner of Eye Pro Inc.’s eye-protection contest is Diana McEnroe, owner of Finishing Touch Day Spa in Waterloo, Ia. She received a Solarmeter (valued at $159) to test tanning lamps.

More than 60 salons participated in the contest by sending in stories of tanning-related eye damage. McEnroe’s winning entry detailed her experience in burning her corneas after a single tanning session without eyewear. She described her pain and watery eyes, and the ordeal of having her eyes taped shut for several days as they healed.
