The following is a list of common lotion terms and definitions. Special thanks to Australian Gold, California Tan and Designer Skin for their help in compiling this glossary.

Ubiquinone—This ingredient is used as a very potent antioxidant. See Coenzyme Q10.

Ucuuba Butter—Uccuba Butter is derived from a tree of the nutmeg family. It is rich in essential fatty acids that nourish and hydrate skin.

Unitrienol—This ingredient is an advanced skin-smoothing agent.

Urea—Humectant.

UV-activated Vitamin C—Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, is most potent when delivered fresh to the skin. This exclusive delivery system maintains the vitamin’s freshness by encapsulating it until it is exposed to the UV-light of a tanning bed.
