The Scotland government is considering mandating that warnings be placed in tanning salons, which would inform tanners of the risks to their health. As part of these warnings, the government is considering including verbiage on eye health; specifically that failure to protect eyes while tanning can cause conjunctivitis, irritation and an increased risk of cataracts, reports ContactLensesCo.uk.
Before the legislation is passed, the government is consulting the public about what warnings should be issued.
