To get started, simply do the following:

  1. Review the material, Basic Indoor Tanning Certification Course
  2. Review Federal Regulations
    Federal performance requirements for ultraviolet (uv) light equipment are found in Title 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) section 1040.20.
  3. Review the State of Oregon Tanning Operator Training requirements.
    This material includes the Oregon Administrative Rules pertaining to tanning devices, as well as the appropriate Contact Information at the state level.
  4. Chapter 14
    Tanning Salon Professionalism- is not part of the curriculum required by the state of Oregon, and there are no test questions pertaining to it. The training materials include this information as a courtesy based on NTTI’s commitment to help advance the professionalism of the industry.
  5. Instructions:
    The Oregon Online Certification Program uses a two-part online testing process. Both sections must be passed in order for you to receive your certification. Part one, The NTTI Basic Indoor Tanning Certification test, must be completed with a score of 90 percent or better. Part two, The State of Oregon Tanning Operator exam, must be completed with a score of 70 percent or better to pass.
