On July 21, 2010, Twilight Teeth, a Florida corporation, filed a patent infringement lawsuit with the federal court system in Orlando, Fla. The defendant in the suit, Ant G. Enterprises, is believed to be the parent company to/or DBA Hollywood Whites and/or Celebrity Hollywood Whites.
Twilight Teeth holds issued patents regarding the use of UV technology to “whiten your teeth while you tan.” Twilight Teeth states that any teeth whitener that claims it works in a tanning bed may be a direct infringement on its patents, including #7,160,111 and #7,621,746.
These patents were issued after Twilight Teeth met the requirements of the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). As such, the company is granted all the protections afforded under the office of the USPTO. Twilight Teeth seeks damages and will defend its patents to the full extent of federal law.
In an effort to help salon owners who may have purchased a teeth whitening system that actually infringes on its patents, Twilight Teeth will provide a replacement at no cost. Salon owners can return their current teeth whitener (any brand name) in exchange for Twilight Teeth’s product. Salon owners should consult their distributor for more information, or send the product to Twilight Teeth at: P.O. Box 162113; Altamonte Springs, FL 32716-162113.
